I am fine

“An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.” Proverbs 24:26

I know I am not the only one that has told someone they are fine when in fact they were hurt or upset about something.  I have never really thought about the fact that I was lying when I said that.  I often say, “I am fine” when I don’t want to talk about what is going on or I want to keep the peace.

I realized this morning that in doing this not only am I lying to the person asking, I am building walls of resentment and breaking down intimacy.  Wisdom comes when we realize something we are doing is agains God’s design and learn from it to not only grow closer to God but to the ones He has placed in our lives.  If I am hurt or upset don’t be surprised if I start telling you I am hurt or upset but don’t want to talk about it right now.  Wisdom is also knowing when to talk, when to process, and when to be quiet and listen.

I know I want to be heard by the ones I love but when I am not speaking out of love then my words come across as hurtful and rude.  I am working on being a blessing in the lives of the ones I love.

Heavenly Father, help me to be honest about what I am feeling and give me the wisdom to know when to speak and when to listen.  I know I get in the way of your plan for my life and the lives of others by not being honest.  Walk with me as I learn to walk in Your footsteps. Amen

All for One

“So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves withChrist.  There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus” Galatians 3:26-28

The day will come when we will all come face to face with our Lord Jesus Christ and the only thing that will separate us from Him is faith and baptizium.  Once we accept Christ as our savior there is nothing that can separate us from His love.  When we are baptized we are washed clean and clothed with Christ’s blood which continually washes away our sins.  “For we all fall short of the glory of God” and need forgiveness everyday of our lives.  I feel so blessed to have a relationship with my Heavenly Father and know that even when I “fall short” I am washed clean.  This does not mean that I don’t have to face the consequences of my choices here on earth it does mean that it is not held against me in Heaven where I will spend eternity.

Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and allowing me to have a relationship with you.  Thank you for forgiving me even though I don’t deserve it.  Help me forgive those who have hurt me for they too were created by you and given free will to make their own choices.  Remind me that I am not hear on this earth to judge but to be Your ambassador. Give me a strength that is only found in you.  Amen

“From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands.” Acts 17:26

It amazes me when I look around at all the different people with different talents and gifts.  Each of us is given a choice everyday of our lives to choose a path designed by a Father who literally breathes a breath into you every second of every day.  Not only are we on this earth right now at this time but each of us has a “job” to do while we are here on this earth.  Every face you see today you were meant to see.  Every conversation you have today was written in God’s book before you were born.  Each of us has a choice to follow Christ’s lead and love our neighbors.  I am challenged today to walk the path God has for me and find my blessings. Will you join me?

Heavenly Father, thank you for your grace and mercy.  I ask that you open my eyes to the plan you have for me this day.  Give me the words to speak and the ears to hear you.  Protect me from the attacks of the evil one as I face today.  Amen

Psalm 51:10 “Create in my a pure heart, o God, and renew a steadfast spirit with in me.  Do not cast me from you presence or take you Holy Spirit from me.”

When we worship God we can feel the presence of the Holy Spirit.  If we listen during those times we are given peace that surpasses understanding.  In the midst of trials we can find peace in the presence of God because His Spirit is peace.  We can also feel His presence leave us when we are not acting in accordance with His word.

It is interesting that He says he will never leave us, which is true, at the same time we can feel lost and alone.  Ever wonder why?  I believe it is because we are not seeking Him with our whole heart.  We thing we can hide areas of our life from Him.  God what…we cannot.  He created us and loves us so much that He at any moment knows how many hairs we have on our head.  I love me family very much but, I don’t know how many hairs they have on their head.  That is a GREAT love.  All He asks of I=us is that we seek Him and when we do He will be present through His Holy Spirit.  We should be seeking Him in everything we say and do.  When we fall short, which we will, all we need to do is repent and He wipes our slate clean, creating a our heart with in us and renewing our spirit.

Heavenly Father, come by your spirit and give me the strength I need to face the challenges of this day.  Lord, your love for me is so wide and deep that I truly cannot understand the magnitude.  Renew a steadfast spirit with in me so Your love can shine.  Amen

Tears in Heaven

Psalm 56:8 “You’ve kept track of my every toss and turn though the sleepless nights, Each tear entered in your ledger, each ache written in you book.” (MSG) or in (NLT) “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in you bottle. You have recorded each one in you book.”

If you ever wondered if those sleepless nights or the countless tears were wasted, here is your answer.  God is such a caring God that He has a jar with your name on it and every tear you have cried.  He has kept track of all your pain.  If God has all this collected and “will make all things new” I am free to forgive and move forward in life.  I don’t have to live with pains and heartaches of the past.  Sin does have consequences but I can find comfort and peace knowing that my Heavenly Father is walking with me and keep track of my sorrow.

Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me so much that nothing escapes your plan for my life.  Every tear, sleepless night, and sorrow that I have faced You were right beside me.  Thank you for loving me more than is humanly possible.  Thank you for the gift of loved ones and friends.  Continue to put people in my life that will encourage me and strengthen me.  Amen

Acts 4:12 ” Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

What does it mean to be saved?  This is simple yet very difficult for our human minds to truly understand.  Gifts are given and received everyday.  We take those for granted as well and this gift of salvation.  Think about it, someone makes you dinner, says a kind word, smiles at you, helps you with your laundry, and the list goes on and on.  We take these things for granted so stop and think about what your life would be like without the help of your family and friends in this life.  We have been blessed with loved ones in our lives that we take for granted these people are gifts from God to bless us and walk through this life with us.  Is that salvation? No, it is a loving God who knows that we cannot walk this life alone.

So what is salvation? It is simply a gift from your Heavenly Father of eternal life with him in glory.  All we need to do is accept, believe, and ask God to be with us, forgive us, and help us walk through this life.  If we do these things we need to live a changed life because God is love, joy, and peace.  If we only focus on the negative of this world we are focusing on the sins of this world.  God is not a negative God no where in scripture does God describe himself as an unforgiving distant God.  He is personal and loving! Walk through today looking for the beauty in those around you no matter how small, find something positive and let go of the negative.  Negative things are from Satan not God.

Heavenly Father, I ask for your help today as I try to grow in love and joy.  Help me to see the positive in everyone I cross paths with.  Help me to pray for those who cut me off in traffic or say ugly things to me.  Help me to recognize when my thinking goes against what you want from me today and everyday.  Forgive me for taking the people in my life for granted and help me to show them love and kindness.  Amen

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heat”

It is hard in this world of instant gratification to stop and seek God.  I find it hard to stop to spend time in prayer.  Sure it is easy to seek and cry out to God when my life is a mess or I am hurting.  God does not what to be a “last resort”.  God wants to be my light and my go to on a continual basis.  “Seek me and know that I am God.”

If I think about it, I would not be here on this earth if it was not for God loving and breathing life into me.  All I am and all I have is because of His love for me.  When I seek with all my heart and allow God to light my path, even in times of trouble I will have His peace and know that His plan is greater than my own.

Heavenly Father help me today and everyday that lays before me to seek Your face and know that Your plans are greater than anything I can ask or imagine.  Lead me as I walk this path and give me strength to trust You in all things.  Amen!

John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Peace comes from storing God’s word in my heart. I once was lost but now I am found. I am a child of Christ and with that comes extreme joy, hope, and peace. God does not promise that my life, as His child, will be perfect and without trials. He actually tells me the exact opposite, I will have troubles in this world. Even when trials come or things don’t go the way I want them to; I need to remember that my Father has a greater plan for me. His plan is the perfect plan.

When trouble comes, I am to rejoice. At first I thought this is crazy, who rejoices at pain and discomfort? Actually, it is an opportunity to be thankful for God’s love because in my trial He shows me His strength. I know I don’t always feel strong or see why things happen but I do know that I have a Father in Heaven who is watching out for me and has a perfect plan for my life. I can rest in that and with that comes peace, joy, and thanksgiving. So, next time I have a trial I might need a little help remembering that God has a greater plan and I should rejoice in the love that is in Christ Jesus.

Father help me remember that in trials You are walking beside me, in front of me, and behind me. You are my protection so that in trials I can see joy, peace, love and am able to rejoice in knowing that Your plan is perfect. Amen
