My Plans God’s Steps

Proverbs 16:9 “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”

We have all been there, we have everything planned out perfectly and then… our entire plan is derailed, changes course, or blows up in our face.

Even the most well thought out and perfect plans in life will be derailed if they are not part of God’s plan for your life.  We can continually fight against God and His plan for our lives, but eventually He brings us to our knees iif we are out of His will.  Sometimes He goes to drastic measures to get our attention.

We can be stubborn like Johna or compliant like Mary, Jesus mother, either way God is drawing us to him for a better life. So, while you are making your plans, pray.  Pray you hear God’s voice.  Pray for decernment.  Pray for wisdom.   Pray for guidance.  Pray for healing.  Wherever you are or what ever yu are dealing with God is guiding your steps; trust Him.

Father, thank your for guiding my steps in good and bad times.  Father, I know that I make plans for my life that do not always line up with Your steps for me.  I try to force You to clear a path because it is what I want for my life.  Fathe help me to trust You path because Your path is perfect. Lord, open my ears to hear Your voice as it calls me in the right direction.  Lord, when my anxiety goes up or my plans fall apart, call to me and open my ears to hear You in the midst of my confusion. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Your Life Deepens With Love

1 Peter 1:22 “How that you’ve cleaned up your lives by following the truth, love one another as if your lives deended on it.  Your new life is not like your old life.” ~Message

We hear all the time to love and honor one another.  Let’s face it, there are times when loving someone is difficult.  If you are struggling to like, let alone love, someone try praying for them.

When we allow God to fight our battles for us, we free ourselves to focus on God and not our circumstances.  Life is difficult; with so much negativity going around there are times when it is difficult to find love, peace, and joy.  Stop thinking and focusing on the negative and begin to change your mindset by focusing on all the blessings you have in Christ.  Focus on loving as if your life depends on it because Love has a way of drawing you away from the negative circumstances in your life.

Thank you Father for cleaning up my life and washing me with Your blood.  Help me to let go of all the negative ways that seem to come so easy.  Show me the beauty You have for me this day.  Father, I seem to worry and stress about things I cannot control.  I humbly come before You and ask for Your continued guidance and strength.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Flawed, yet Redeemed

1 Peter 1;18-19 “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were reeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.”

When you look in the mirror what do you see?  Do you see a flawed human being or a child of God?  Actually, you should see both. However, which one are you choosing to focus on?

When we focus on our flaws we become beat down and overcome with sadness.  When we focus on our relationship with Christ we are freed to feel joy, peace, and love.  I am tired of spending my days focusing on my flaws.  It is time to start living a loved life.  One where I recognize the precious blood of Christ has washed over me and cleansed me from my sins.  When you look in the mirror, thank God for the life He has given you because no matter where you are He has redeemed you.  That doesn’t t mean you will be pain free, but it does mean you have a companion to walk through the fire with you.

Father, thank your or giving me a life, although not exactly what I had planned, where I encountered You.  I could not, and don’t want to, imagine where I would be today if it were not for the precious blood of Christ.  I have not, and will not, live an empty life.  I will continue to grow in my relationship with You knowning that You are the author.  Continue to carry me, guide me, and call to me everyday of my life.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Believe, Is It Really That Simple?

Ephesians 1:13. “…Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, “

There are very few things that are as simple as, just believe.  Maybe that is why we have such a hard time with faith.  The basis of faith is believing Christ died to save us.  It is that simple, yet we make it complicated.  Everyone seems to want proof, but aren’t there times when you just know?

God is so amazing and knew we would struggle so, He defined faith for us.  Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”  We cannot see love but we know it exists.  When you put your faith in Jesus Christ you were marked and sent a spiritual helper, the Holy Spirit.  The Spirit lives in you and is where your strength comes from,  2 Corinthians 12:10 “…For when I am weak, then I am strong.” God gives usage strength to overcome through His presence.

Father, I am so greatful for your grace, mercy, love, and presence in my life.  Sometimes I doubt you and what you are doing in my life, yet you never stop loving and calling me.  I am forever grateful for your love and presence in my life.  Be with me today guiding and strengthening me through Your Holy Spirit.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Are You Stumbling?

1 John 2:10 ”Whoever loves his brother lives int he light, and there is nothing in him to make him stumble.”

Have you ever noticed that when you are frustrated or offended you cannot love, or even like someone?

When we are offended we open a door to the evil one.  Once we open the door he will come in and steal, kill, and destroy.  Nothing good comes from the evil one entering our lives.  He want to steal “the fruit of the Spirit love, joy, peace patience, kindness goodness faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” Galations 5: 22-23.  When you feel yourself loosing control and opening the door to the evil one call on the name above all other names, Jesus.  When we call on the name of Jeuss, Satan has to go because he has been defeated and cannot standin the presence of The King.  No matter what you are going through call on His name and He will fill you with a peace that surpasses all understanding because His name is LOVE.

Father, thank you for always being there when I call you and even when I don’t.  I know that you Are always with me and will never leave me or forsake me.  You alone bring peace, joy, love,  and everything good into my life.  Remove from me the darkness that causes me to stumble.  Bring light into the darkness of my soul and cleanse me from anything that draws me away from You.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Are you giving your all?

Matthew 7:1-2 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Are you giving you all?  Jesus gives us the opportunity to choose what measure he will use.  I never really thought about this statement quite like this; I Jesus stood before you and showed you measuring cups and asked you to choose.  “Now choose carefully,” he might say, “because whichever one you choose will be used the one I use to bless you.”

I don’t know about you, but I would choose the biggest one that was available.  Now, go back to the first part of the scripture.  For the same way you judge others or measure others will be used on you.  So I ask you again, are you giving your all?  Are you giving your all at work? Home? Church? Neighborhood?  This list can go on and on, the reality is, God gave us gifts so we could bless others, are you a blessing to your family, loved ones, patients, students, co-workers?

Father, forgive my selfishness, I know that I do not always do act, or say what is pleasing and good.  LORD, I am sorry for using a different measure for those around me than I am willing to use for myself.  Father, help me to be reflective on how I treat and judge others.  I know I am guilty of judging others by their actions and myself on my intentions.  When my intentions do not line up with my actions Father, please open my eyes so I can own it.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Don’t Miss It

Jeremiah 29:11 “‘For I know the pans I have for you,’ declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”

Stop and look around you, what do you see?  When you look at your home, your car, your job, what do you think about?  Are you filled with joy, peace, and love or are you filled with frustration, fear, and anxiety?

Now, close your eyes and imagine sitting on your Heavenly Father’s lap and looking at all those same things.  Here Him say, “It is all part of my plan, see there when you chose to turn down that path, I was ready.  See how I continually drew you to me.  I have guided you to this point and I have prepared a way for you.  I have never left you alone one your journey and I never will.  I have called you by name and I will continue to work in your life.  See all you have and think of me because you are a blessing to me.  Find strength in Me, find healing in Me, find peace in Me, leave your fears, frustrations, and anxieties with me and live your life remembering that peace, joy and love are yours and a gift from Me.”

Father, there are so many time in my life when I don’t come to you.  Times when I think I can do it on my own.  I am weak and need a savior to fight for me.  Lord, I give you my life and I ask for Your covering over all that is going on in my life.  You know how to heal my situation and I trust you.  Take my fears, anxieties, and worries; replace them with the love, joy, and peace that is only found in You.  In Jesus’ name, Amen

Focus on the light

Matthew 6:22 “The eye is the lamp of the body.  If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light.”

Want do you see when you look in the mirror?  When you look at your children?  When you look at your loved ones?

A lamps job is to illuminate, to shed light on a subject.  Our eyes are the gateway to our hearts.  When we look at something that is pleasing we feel love, peace, joy, happiness, and maybe tranquility.  The opposite is true when we look at something that we deem as not pleasing.  Our actions will follow.  If we see something pleasing our actions are typically positive.  If we see something that is not pleasing our actions are typically negative.

When people look at you what do they see?  Do they see a person who is smiling or frowning?  So they see a child of God or something different?  The way you see the world and the people in it will determine your actions and words.  It will also determine how others see you.

Father, when You see me I want You to see Your son.  I know that my words and actions are not always pleasing to You.  Thank you for forgiving me when I focus on worldly things instead of You.  Help me Lord to see the world through Your eyes that I may be a light to those around me, especially to those closest to me.  You have given me family and friends as a gift, help me to see and treat them that way.  In Jesus Name, Amen

Garden of Your Heart

Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.”

Ever wonder what the garden of Eden looked like?  Ever wonder what it would be like to walk with God and be able to see and touch Him?  When we accepted Christ as our savior we began walking with God.  We cannot physically see or touch Him; we have something better, His presence within our heart, mind, body, and soul.

I have often dreamed of walking with my Heavely Father in this beautiful place.  My understanding of the garden of Eden is one of complete beauty, whatever that means to you.  It is a place filled with tranquility, peace, joy, and beauty.

Some days this image Might be the only thing keeping you going.   Other days you might feel shut out of this place and alone.  God says on these days we need to look into our hearts and find Him walking with us as He did with Adam and Eve before sin was brought into this world.

When life feels unfair, full of burdens, and you feel alone find encouragement in your Heavenly Father, he is  walking with you through every moment of everyday.   Finding His peace is beyond our true comprehension so sit there and let the troubles of this world be released to your Father who loves you more than is humanly possible.

Father, I come to you today and ask that you reveal to me the garden within my heart where we can walk in with You in times of sleeplessness, pain, fear, anxiety, worry. and loneliness.  I don’t want to live in this state. I want to walk in the light of Your presence.  Give me strength to be able to see You and walk with You through the storms of life. Lord, I release all my fears, worries, and anxieties to You for You are my rescuer, healer, and redeemer. In Jesus Name, Amen

Let Me Love You

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you: do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and hep you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Let me love you, I hear the Lord say.  Come to me in your weakness and I will give you strength.  You are broken and I will heal you.   Be still and know that I am your God, your strength, and your shelter when the storms of life come.  Come rest to me and rest in my arms for I am your comforter and healer.

Do you ever just feel overwhelmed by life?  God tells us to come to him in our brokenness, pain, worry, and our hurting.  He is our strength in times of trouble.  He has come to seek and save the lost.  So, do you feel lost today?  Do not fret, he is waiting to hold you.   His arms are open ready to hold and comfort you.  He is the healer of broken relationships, broken hearts, and a mender of souls. No matter what you face today He has a plan and not just any plan, a perfect plan.  So, run into your Father’s arms and find comfort, healing, and best of all love.

Papa, I am so grateful to know that I am never alone.  In the midst of the storms of life you are right there with open arms.  In your arms I can find comfort and healing.  Allow me to sit with you today.  Speak to me and draw me closer to you.  Change me Lord and make me more like you.  In Jesus Name, Amen
