Heartache

Matthew 26:39 “Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.’ “

I cannot think of a time when I have enjoyed going through a trial, heartache, or difficult situations. Yet, God has always made a way when everything seemed hopeless.

The headaches and trials that I face are nothing compared to what you faced to save me from eternal death. You took the beating I deserved, the ridicule I deserved, and finally You took the death I deserved. Because of what You did I get to live free and forgiven.

Father help me when I face challenges in life to remember that You faced ridicule, embarrassment, shame, and death so I don’t have to face these things alone. There are times when nothing in this life seems fair and I have questions then, you gently whisper something to my soul that eases my heartache and pain. You continually remind me of Your love for me through Your Word and the people You put in my life. Thank you for loving me and reminding me that I get to live free because of You. Guide me today LORD and keep me in Your will. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Direct My Steps

Jeremiah 10:23-24a “I know, God, that mere mortals can’t run their own lives. That men and women don’t have what it takes to take charge of life. So correct us, God, as you see best.”

There is so much freedom when we realize that we don’t direct our steps. We get to surrender our lives, trials, struggles, hearts, minds, and wells over to Christ’s care and control. When we take our hands off of the wheel of life and allow God to take control there is freedom. This does not mean that we will be trouble free, we are human after all and try to take control only to surrender it again. God sees your heat ad knows your desire, you and I need to trust that He knows best.

Father, I come before you in complete surrender. I seek freedom that is only found in relationship with you. I know that I will face trials of many kinds. I also know that You are the way maker. Father I invite You into my my life and ask You to take complete control. When I try to take control from you gently help me to hear your voice, “I got this.” Thank you for always being patient and loving. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Unseen

Psalm 139:1-3 “O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceived my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.”

There are so many things we do in life that go unseen by those in our lives. It seems easy to take those closest to us for granted. We come to expect certain things without thinking about the work the person doing those things. We often forget to say a simple thank you or look outside ourselves to see how we can help. In the day-to-day we can become complacent and take our loved ones for granted.

When you feel that all you do goes unseen by the world remember that you have a Father that sees all that you do and knows how hard you work. Remember that you are working for the Lord and not those in your life. Rest in Him and trust in His promises. He knows when you need rest before you do and He knows all that you do even in the unseen.

Father, thank you for seeing me when I feel invisible. You see me and know me. You know not only my thoughts, but my needs as well. Help me to come to you in my times of need instead of going to my worldly thoughts. These thoughts are often not truth, but the evil one trying to create strife and heartache. Help me seek Your truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
